Have You Ever Had...

... a sex dream about a friend? Bizarre. And slightly unsettling.

Although, now I can say; "Yeah, but I saw you nekkid" and win any argument with my non sequitur goodness.

Things I Never Thought I Would Say...

"That diet cat food must really suck, even the baby won't eat it."

August Booklist

Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging - Louise Rennison
On the Bright Side, I am now the Girlfriend of a Sex God - Louise Rennison
Knocked Out by my Nunga-Nungas - Louise Rennison
Dancing in my Nuddy Pants - Louise Rennison
Away Laughing on a Fast Camel - Louise Rennison
Family Trust - Amanda Brown
Every Boys Got One - Meg Cabot
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - J.K. Rowling

Notice there is no September booklist. That would be because I didn't get the chance to read a single book in September, damn it.

But I did watch Veronica Mars.

First Day of the Show....

So far I have spent lots of money, eaten lots of free food (plus overpriced, underfresh cafeteria rot that shouldn't even be called food), and walked 8,134,945 miles without rest. Time to find a stiff drink, dinner and the pool.

In Toronto...

I managed to make it to Toronto, with only minimal stupidity. Like, say, forgetting my hotel confirmation at home and being convinced I was booked into the wrong hotel. Erm, no, it was the other hotel down the street.

Ah well, at least it made my boss feel better about forgetting things at work, and then at home, causing much driving around the city before we made it out on the road, so to speak. I managed to read both Knocked Out by my Nunga-Nunga's and Dancing in my Nuddy Pants on the drive here. I meant to bring along Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging and On The Bright Side, I'm Now The Girlfriend of a Sex God along as well, but I read them yesterday. Good thing I brought more books just in case. Of course, now I keep wandering around thinking about nippy noodles and nuddy pants and adding "oid" to the end of every second word (how fabbity-fab-fab) but, what's a girl to do?

Find the nearest computer, of course. As soon as I booked into the right hotel (second time's the charm),
I dumped my bags and went out in search of the free internet service.

Well, duh.

So we are back from vacation...

Had a fabulous time. The weather was perfect, as was the company. The wee one was a big hit and delighted by the swing in the backyard just for her. Ate tons of excellent food and balanced it off by walking all over the city every day. The only sucky thing was our diaper bag being stolen, along with the digital camera it was holding, but these things happen. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation.

We are going to Vancouver - on Saturday...

Holy shit!

If anyone has any tips for keeping a one year old happy on a plane for five or so hours, let me know.

A Plea To All Torontonians...

If anyone wants a house guest from August 7-11 or thereabouts (might be a shorter trip) let me know. I *really* don't want to stay at a hotel near the airport. *shudders* At any rate, I'd love to hang out and catch up on the all the happening happenings while I'm in town. I'm doing the Toronto Gift Show, so I won't be around during the day, but my nights are pretty much free.

Books I Read During the Month of June:

All American Girl - Meg Cabot
The Boy Next Door - Meg Cabot
Your Wicked Ways - Eloisa James
A Wild Pursuit - Eloisa James
Much Ado About You - Eloisa James
Potent Pleasures - Eloisa James
How Not To Be A Perfect Mother - Libby Purves
Grand Passion - Jayne Ann Krentz
The Paid Companion - Amanda Quick
PS, I Love You - Cecelia Ahern

MMmmMmm... sugar in book form. Would have been even better if it involved a beach and umbrella drinks, instead of having to save every second page from a hungry 11 month old, but such is life.

Alrighty then...

So the better part of Canada Day has past, in a blur of stompy little feet and a birthday party. Now what? I was invited to a party a couple of blocks away from my house last week, but I didn't think to get the exact address and wandering down the street trying to find it seems unappealing and an awful lot of work. Particularily for a party populated by people I don't know very well. Although I must admit, I am somewhat disappointed, since I've never really been to a Canada Day party; what with the crappy jobs that often required working on stat holidays, the fact that Canada and my Mom share a birthday, and last year at this time I was the size of a small office building and had a foot permanently lodged in my bladder. Plus, there was the fact that I haven't actually attended one of this person's somewhat infamous parties (the crappy job thing again - night shifts sure do wreck havoc on a party girl's social life.) Ah well, I think I will survive the heartache, I am sure.
